Living History Project - Oral Interview

You will complete an Oral Interview.
You need to conduct your interview on the topic of WWII or the Korean War.
You can interview a veteran of that war, or anyone who lived on the home front during those events. (They need to have been atleast 10 years old during the war and older would be better.)
If you don't have relatives or family friends that lived during this time, consider going to a nursing home, or a Veterans organization.
Let them tell their story.
You should take notes during the interview.

They can discuss what they would like, but if you need direction possible questions:
--Why did the US get involved?
--What is your opinion of the president's leadership during that war?
--Who was our enemy? What were they like?
--What role did women play in the war effort?
--Did the war change your day to day life?
--Was there any US policy that you disagreed with?
--Were there any generals that stand out in your memory?
--How much did items cost?
--WWII-what items were rationed and what did you think about rationing?

--Memorable occasions?

Never push them to discuss anything they don't want to. Be sure to thank them for sharing their story.
